Sports Injury

A Sports Injury does not discriminate between a weekend warrior and a professional athlete.

What Causes Sports Injuries?

An injury can be caused by one of two different sources. The first from trauma, due to a twist, slip, collision and/or fall. Or, from repetitive stress, due to overuse of a certain body part, resulting in small often undetected tears in the muscle finders, which accumulate over time, called micro-trauma

Increased intensity in your training and performance increases the strain and risk for injury. Proper biomechanics, structural skeletal alignment, and soft tissue (muscles/tendons/ligaments) health is critical in supportive care when recovering from or avoiding a sports injury.

Dr. Ducey-Clark’s extensive background in sports injury care along with her own lifetime experience in athletics, has enriched her effectiveness is successfully supporting patients ranging from professional athletes to the person training for his/her first 5k run. Utilizing a variety of different therapies, such as ART, physical therapy modalities, rehabilitative strengthening and stretching exercises, joint mobilization with a biomechanical approach, and more, she assists patients every day in their recoveries from sports injuries and helping prevent future injury.

At Falling Leaves Health we will determine if you are a candidate for treatment within her clinic based on detailed history and assessment of your initial examination. Once your assessment has been completed, we will design your own personalized treatment plan that will fit your lifestyle and healthcare goals.
